Today I’m doing both the Top Characters Who I Want To Be For Halloween & Books/Movies that Get Me in the Spirit of Halloween!
This is more of the Benedict Cumberbatch style dress of Sherlock, but eh. It’s awesome and modern and it still has the deerstalker hat and gives off the Sherlock vibe.
2. Mad Hatter
I could totally pull off the Mad Hatter. The look is awesome, but the acting involved is even better. After all we all go mad sometimes, right? Right?!
3. The Doctor
Hey, he’s in books! Being the Doctor would be super-awesome. Which incarnation I’m not sure. Probably the tenth, since I do have a thing for long coats and chucks, but the fourth Doctor’s 20ft. long scarf is so tempting.
4. Robin Hood
This is another one I think I could probably pull off. I’ve already got the recurve bow and arrows, I’d just need green. Lots and lots of green. And the boots. I like the boots.
There’s no way I’m wearing Batman’s tight form-fitting outfit, but the Batman hoodie costume I might be able to pull off. Add a couple of homemade bat-devices to go on the utility belt to *POW* it up a bit. I’ve turned old CDs into ninja stars before, that’ll do nicely.
1. Hocus Pocus
This movie is already a classical family halloween treat. There hasn’t been a year that’s gone by since it came out that my friend and I haven’t watched it at least a couple of times around halloween.
2. Ernest Scared Stupid
Ernest Scared Stupid scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. This is just one of those movies that has hung around and stayed with me through the years; one I had to watch year after year (being the youngest) to prove it didn’t scare me (it did).
3. Killer Klowns From Outer Space
Everyone will probably agree that clowns are creepy. BUT, alien clowns! That wrap people in cocoons of cotton candy! And drink their blood through those plastic twirly straws! Then, put more people in balloons for the trip home to save for latter! My halloween would be no where near complete without this movie. I love it!
Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice! There’s really no “Halloween” reason behind this one, except it’s just usually on around Halloween. It’s a big favorite between a friend and I so we pretty much catch it any time it comes on. Plus we were 90’s kids and grew up watching the Beetlejuice cartoon series.
5. Scary Movie Marathons!
You didn’t really think I’d leave out the actual SCARY movies, did you? No, no. I adore horror movies; traditional horror, campy horror, monster, serial killers; you name it. I’m the youngest child and was often forced to watch whatever my older siblings were watching, so by the time I was 10 I loved being scared from movies. My favorited marathons always come on Syfy channel or the chiller channel.
