Welcome to another week of Top Ten Tuesday, a book meme hosted by the lovely Broke and the Bookish! Each week bloggers are given a a topic and are encouraged to list their very own top ten on that topic!
This week centers around FOOD, and I decided to list my favorite cookbooks. As it is I’m not big into cooking in general, but if a character in a book or on one of my TV shows has had it, I’ll probably try to cook it just to see what it tastes like. You know you’ve done it, too! I also got into baking bread a couple of summers ago as one of my summer hobby projects.
As always, feel free to add to the list in the comment section below, or add the link to your own TTT. I really need to start cooking for myself more!
Dining With The Doctor: The Unauthorized Whovian Cookbook by Chris-Rachael Oseland
Yes, I’m a WHOVIAN! This book teaches you to make simple things like fish-fingers and custard, a favorite of the 11th doctor, and gets a little more creative by making Cassandra (the tight-skinned trampoline) out of fruit leather. It also teaches us poor Americans how to make Jammie Dodgers! Mmm. I do have to admit some of these recipes are for looks only, and wouldn’t be to good to actually eat. Or it might just be a culture thing? I dunno.
Cooking for Geeks: Real Science, Great Hacks, and Good Food by Jeff Potter
This isn’t really a ‘cookbook’. It teaches you what kind of cook you are (defiantly innovative for me!), and makes cooking in to more of a science project! Why do certain flavors go well together and not others? Why are some good savory or sweet? It’s all about the science behind the food!
Kitchen OverLord by Chris-Rachael Oseland
This is a comic book style cookbook for fandoms! Star Trek? Check! The Walking Dead? You bet! Hitchhiker’s Guide? Of course! Some are recipes from the fandom, others are just made to look like something or mimic the fandom. Either way; comic book fandom!
As stated, I’m not big on cooking but I’m working on it. Here’s some books I’m wanting to add to my geeky book collection! Have some of your own that work (or your own recipes/pintrest links)? Please share!
**The Harry Potter cookbook did not make the list. Why? No recipe for Butterbeer. Who makes a Harry Potter cookbook and doesn’t add a recipe for Butterbeer?!**
