Welcome back to another week of Top Ten Tuesday! TTT is a bookish meme in which bloggers are given a topic and challenged to list their top ten on that topic! This is the first week TTT is under our new host, That Artsy Reader Girl, so go check out her blog and say hi!
Now, last weeks TTT was Books I Meant To Read In 2017 But Didn’t Get To, which was a real struggle to get through because now the to-be-read list is just a pain. This weeks TTT is Bookish Resolutions/Goals! Resolutions and Goals are NOT my cup of tea.
Finish My Home Library Makeover
I’ve been working on completely renovating my home library and desk/art space. That includes building three more bookshelves and a 12 cube wire storage unit. I still have another bookshelf to build and tons of things to clean out and get organized, but it’s coming together and looking great!
I’ve been working on a check-list (which will be posted sometime) of books that I want to read through/ think people should read through before they kick the bucket. I’ll probably be constantly added to throughout the years, but it’s something I really want to have to keep me remembering to go back to the classics from time to time (including Art of War, Sybil, Dune, Wicked, The Once and Future King, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, etc.).
I already read a lot of books from asian countries (mainly Japanese), but I wouldn’t mind expanding that to include more translated books from across the world. I have a few books I’ve collected from my summers in Belize that I enjoy, and I love reading local legends from the people themselves.
READ FROM MY SHELF!
Look. I’ve got an entire shelf of books plus who know how many Kindle books downloaded that I haven’t read yet, and I still order new books. I need to read the books I have BEFORE I order new ones. It’s so hard, though! I always tell myself I’ll get around to all of them, but the days are too short, work is too long, and sleep has to be added in there somewhere.
I used to write a lot, and while I never wrote anything worth publishing I still loved fleshing out short stories and playing with characters- even entering a few short story contests just for the fun of it. It seems as though I really haven’t written anything since creative writing in college and I’ve grown to miss it.
Indie Book Reviews
This one is tough. I started blogging after a friend wrote his own book, and I wanted a way to get his and several indie authors books known. It’s hard digging through a title wave of requests from indie authors, especially when most of them don’t pay attention to the regulations you have set for submitting books, but then you find just a couple of those diamonds that make the digging worth it!
