Welcome to this weeks installment of Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the lovely The Broke and the Bookish. Do give her blog a visit! TTT is a bookish meemee in which bloggers are given a topic each week and are challenged to give a top ten list on that topic. A bit of fun, a bit of laughs, and a chance to find interesting books you didn’t know/forgot about.
This weeks topic is Movie Adaptations I’m Looking Forward To. There’s a few on my list I KNOW I want to see, and a few I’m skeptical about. As always, feel free to add a link to your own TTT in the comments or just comment on a book-movie your waiting to see!
1. Victor Frankenstein
Based on Frankenstein, this movie is coming out later this year sometime. From the bits I’ve seen so far it looks pretty good, but I’m not too sure about Radcliffe playing Igor. I’m wondering if they’re just doing that get-someone-famous-to-fill-the-spot thing and not worrying about the actual character.
Based on Left for Dead (true story). I like survival books/movies and human condition, so this is bound to be one for me.
3. The Jungle Book
I don’t know how many adaptations of The Jungle Book I’ve watched, but I love them! I’ll just add another to the pile, thank you.
4. Ready Player One
There’s a long waiting time for this one. It won’t come out till 2017, but I’m a big fan of video games and books based off of video games.
5. Pride, Prejudice & Zombies
Even if it comes out completely cheesy, I’m totally okay with it. I love made-for-tv sci-fi, especially sy-fy channel movies, and I’ll just laugh my head off the entire time. These replacing classics with monsters books are so entertaining to me!
Okay, so, here’s where my geekiness really kicks in. You may want to just skip the next five to save your sanity, or join in the fun! Your choice. Just a short disclaimer that I am not responsible for what happens if you read the following paragraphs. Enjoy!
Wade Wilson is Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth! He’s hilarious; sassy and sarcastic with a hint of immortality. The movie is about how Wade first becomes Deadpool, which leaves plenty of room for sequels! But careful kids, Deadpool is not called Merc with a Mouth for nothing.
7. Doctor Strange
Yes! Guess what?! Doctor Strange, the powerful sorcerer, is going to be played by none other than Benedict Cumberbatch! Isn’t that great?! I can totally see it. What’s even better is not that Doctor Strange is being added to our Marvel Movie-verse maybe we’ll have Iron Fist and Doctor Doom (Fantastic Four didn’t happen).
8. Sinister Six
Don’t promise me a movie then cancel it, please. Right now the movie is delayed, hopefully it’ll still be made, but the Sinister Six is where six of Spiderman’s enemies (Vulture, Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, and Sandman led by Doctor Octopus) all try to take down Spiderman at the same time. Good times, good times.
9. Suicide Squad
Oh, lets just take the biggest, baddest villians, put bombs in their heads, and use them as new recruits for A.R.G.U.S. (black ops) suicide missions. Brilliant idea, Amanda Waller! Suicide Squad always makes me root for the bad guys and want to burry Amanda Waller in a desert.
10. Batman Vs. Superman
General Zod, Wonderwoman, Aquaman, The Flash, Superman and Batman in one movie is a DC lover’s dream. I, for one, can’t wait to see Superman get his butt handed to him!
