Welcome to this weeks Top Ten Tuesday, a bookish meemee hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! TTT is a meemee in which bloggers a given a bookish topic and write a post on their top ten in that subject. Fun all around!
This weeks TTT is 10 Wishes I’d Ask The Book Genie To Grant Me. Oh boy. I know this one is going to have some interesting replies! 😉
1. Tardis Bookshelf
You know, like an honest-to-Rassilon Timelord technology Tardis bookshelf. The entire bit. I could reach in and pull a book out of the past or the future and never run out of space because hey, It’s Bigger On the Inside! No more having to worry about things such as “release dates”, not when I have all of Time and all the space I need!
2. Spiral Staircase
I don’t care if I’m sleeping in my car and eating Ramen noodles every day, I want a home library with a wooden spiral staircase! It doesn’t even have to go anywhere. There could be pillows and blankets at the top for a nice little reading nook for all I care. I just know that I have always wanted a wooden spiral staircase in my own private library (probably thanks to Beauty and the Beast, as usual) and if I get 10 wishes, I’m going to have it!
3. Magic Book
We’re getting these from a magic, mystical book genie, right? Right. So, I’m just going all out, because I do what I want this week! I want a magic book that changes stories every time I read it to fit my mood. It always has just the right amount of angst, action, romance, horror, or whatever I looking to read; even when I don’t know what I want to read at the moment.
4. “Portal” Book
Not to be confused with the “Magic” book of the previous wish, I want a sort of portal book that’s like Belle’s magic mirror in Beauty and the Beast. When I ever wonder what happened to a certain character or want to know what they’re up to, I can open the book and read about it!
5. Library Planet!
I’m not done being completely ridiculous in this post, so I’ll continue. With another Doctor Who reference, why not a planet that’s full of every book ever written in time and space? My TBR list just got way bigger.
Okay, considering I love reading Japanese books and it takes years for books by my favorite author to get translated into english (not to mention all the alien languages when my last wish comes true!), how about a bunch of languages get zapped into my brain? Hm? Yes? That would also save me from horrible translations which happen from time to time.
7. Water-Proof Books
Yes, I have a Kindle with a water-proof case, but I don’t always buy books on my Kindle. Some of my favorite places to read on in the bath, by the pond, lake, ocean, in the boat, etc… SOMEWHERE near water where my precious has the potential to be destroyed! So why not use one of my wishes to make books water-proof? No more boating accidents! Yay!
